LID SCREWS ON so this little package won't easily come apart in your bag. Either flat lid or transparent part are useful for resting the strainer full of used-but-reusable valuable leaves. The handles easily fold both closed and open, and easily span most mugs or cups, something my other tea strainer strains to do ;-). I have one for home, and will buy a second to stash in my go-bag/day hiking pack, and can rehome my *other* strainer. Fair price, too, for good-quality useful thing. I want less "stuff," but this is useful for other straining than just tea, so...
