A bold, full-bodied black tea, this English Breakfast is perfect morning, noon or night (if you can handle the caffeine!). What makes this aromatic selection truly special is its global character: The blend is derived from tea grown high in the rich, volcanic soil of the hills looming over Africa's Great Rift Valley. It has an unforgettable silky smoothness, along with a beautiful copper color reminiscent of an early morning Rwandan sunrise. You'll be hard-pressed to stop after a single cup!

About Our Tea

Rakkasan is the old Japanese word for parachute. It's also the nickname of a unit in the Army's 101st Airborne Division. In Iraq and Afghanistan, RTC’s founders led Rakkasans in combat, often drinking tea with locals. The experience inspired them to help the economies of war-torn areas. Now they find the hidden gems. Unlike most premium tea in the U.S., RTC sources from carefully selected estates in post-conflict countries as a way to promote peace and economic growth.

English Breakfast Tea has been my go-to for over 60 years

When stationed in England in the early 60's I met my wife and learned to drink tea in the English way, a strong black tea with a splash of milk. I was never a coffee drinker but became hooked on English Breakfast Tea. Rakkasan English Breakfast Tea is right up there with or better than: Twinings, Taylors, Tetley's, Thompson's, etc... After all the years I still have 4 or 5 cups a day, starting with one of my wife's favorites P.G. Tips or Yorkshire Gold, then onto one of the many black tea's I've tried from Rakkasan but always seem to include either Rakkasan Breakfast Tea or the English Breakfast Tea.

Wonderful Tea

I drink this tea as an afternoon pick me up and I enjoy the flavor as well as the bit of caffeine.

Best alternative to loose leaf

There are times we just can't use loose leaf tea. These are the best alternative I've found. Take 'em to work. Even put an empty cup under an empty Keurig chamber . Not quite loose leaf Gorilla Mountain, but better than other tea bags.

Oldie but a goodie

Good ole English Breakfast. Hits the spot when you need it to. This one is nice and brisk with a bit of astringency but also has a smoothness to it. Great woody notes and a bit of earth. Would go well with milk but I wouldn’t add sugar unless you really need it.
